Drive-In Worship Service – April 5th
Dear North Bedford family,
Our Deacons and I have been checking this week on the impact that the Governor’s stay-at-home order has on our drive-in worship service.
The folks at the SBCV office in Richmond have been in contact with the Governor’s office and Mike Hicks has talked with our local Health Department and the verdict is:
We WILL still be able to continue our drive-in worship services at North Bedford!!!
There are a couple of caveats that we have been given and we need to be careful to follow:
– Everyone must stay in their cars. We cannot get out and sit in lawn chairs or fellowship outside of our cars after the worship service.
– If you are under a self-quarantine order, such as if you have traveled abroad within the last 14 days, then you cannot gather with us, but must stay home until your self-quarantine time is over.
It will be hard for us to be together without getting out and enjoying closer fellowship – however, the Lord has told us that we are to obey the governmental authority that He has put over us (Romans 13:1-2), and these are the guidelines that we have been given – so we will observe them!
Mike Smith is working on the radio frequency, to make it more accessible. We don’t know what that frequency will be yet.
One option that may help some of us is to bring a portable battery powered radio rather than using your car’s radio. That will be helpful especially if you are worried about your car’s battery.
We will also have the speakers set up for sound.
These are not ideal circumstances, certainly not what we’re used to..but we trust the Lord for all that, His plan is best, and we rejoice that He has given us this way to gather together.
It will be good just to be together, sing together and study God’s Word together!
This Sunday is Palm Sunday!
Next Sunday is Easter!
It will be a great blessing to turn our eyes to Christ and the Cross and the empty tomb together!
I will be sending out another email later today with a number of resources for you that are designed to equip our families for this time when many of us find ourselves and our children at home.
As always, please don’t hesitate to call me for any reason, at any time (434-907-0746).
“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the House of the Lord!'” Psalm 122:1
See you Sunday!
